New Year New You?

You know what drives me crazy about the New Year? Nope, not the hangover…I am fortunate to say I avoid those as a rule. What drives me nuts is this silly expectation that we should create a list of things that we’re supposed to improve upon once January 1 arrives.

So, let me get this straight. Write a list of things that’s wrong with me, and then because of a date on the calendar, it’s time for me to get my shit together? Girl, please.

What a horrible way to start a brand new year. A list of shit that you didn’t get right last year. Ugh. That’s the opposite of high vibing, amiright? No wonder resolutions fail. Staring at a list of stuff that reminds you that you’re not enough, isn’t super motivating. If anything, it’s depressing.

So let’s throw that silly tradition out like the left over fruitcake! What if you made a list instead of how you wanted to feel this year? Screw this year…that’s too big. Make a list of 3 core feelings that you want to feel, EVERY DAY.

If you focus on the feeling, your actions and responses will fall into line to ensure you experience the feeling. It’s not about taking action, it’s about the feeling. Feeling good becomes your only goal.

First, you’re gonna have to accept a couple of hard truths. One, it’s not selfish to put yourself first. In fact, it’s absolutely necessary. Second, yes, you deserve to feel good. All the time. The Universe is not about this person over here deserves happy ~ that person over there does not. It’s your freaking birthright to love your life. Hear me: LOVE YOUR LIFE.

Ditch the list of resolutions and concentrate on simple list of feelings you want to experience. Look at this list every morning. Talk to yourself, talk to your spirit guides and angels, talk to the Universe. Tell the Universe what you want to experience, today. This is a daily practice. This is a several-times-a-day practice. This is your new and all encompassing journey: feeling good.

If you will commit to yourself, that feeling awesome is your ONLY goal for the day, the morning, the afternoon, the evening, the night…the Universe will deliver. Are you ready? You are. Are you deserving? You are. Will you do it?
